The Tulsa Police Department has released a statement on its Facebook page regarding a DUI checkpoint in Downtown Tulsa on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The statement on their website reads as follows:
DUI Checkpoint in Downtown Tulsa
“Thursday, December 31st from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, The Tulsa Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint in downtown Tulsa.
This is part of Tulsa Police Department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries, deaths and raising awareness about the dangers caused by alcohol and drug-impaired drivers.
When needed, drivers are encouraged to use alternate methods of transportation during the New Year’s Eve festivities.
This special enforcement is part of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office “ENDUI” program. Overtime funding is being provided by the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office DUI Enforcement Grant.“
